Submit content to woO-TV

Use the following steps to submit content (see guidelines for content below) for woO-TV:
  1. Upload your video material to an online video hosting service - preferably to your own account at Veoh.com (it is free to set up an account, and you can upload videos of any filesize, length or resolution - note that the standalone uploader must be used for files larger than 100 Mb - and keep uploads below 60 minutes to ensure that all of the video can be viewed in the Flash player). Using Veoh will ensure maximum quality for the viewers, and increase the chances for your content to be approved for woO-TV. If you use another video hosting service, we will download the video and upload it to Veoh.com, and thus there will be a delay in getting your content online at woO-TV.
  2. Fill out the form below to submit the content for woO-TV. You may post the URL in the form below as soon as you have got an URL for the video during upload - i.e. before the upload is finished. The submitted content will be reviewed by the editors of woO-TV, and the content will be added if it is found appropriate. You will be informed about the process on e-mail.
You will not loose any copyright for your material by submitting it to woO-TV. You can either provide material which is ready for broadcast, or raw material consisting of raw video material to be edited by woO-TV (more info about uploading raw material below).

Content guidelines

  • Only orienteering related content is allowed.
  • If possible, upload your content to Veoh.com, as this will give maximum quality for the viewers, and ensure that your content is available for the viewers as soon as possible. Please don't use online video services with poor video quality, as e.g. YouTube.
  • You should upload your content with high quality - if possible DVD quality. Veoh allows a large number of different formats, but we recommend MPEG4, DivX or wmv (remember that to view the content in high quality, the viewers will need to have the codecs in which your content is made). Please encode your video at a minimum of 540x405 pixels (for 4:3). Note that this is significantly higher quality than typically used at e.g. YouTube. Please contact us at wootv@worldofo.com if you have any questions regarding upload format.
  • You may include ads for your sponsors in the videos. Note however that when more than 10% of the total video time consists of ads, it will generally not be considered for broadcasting on woO-TV. Furthermore, the maximum time of sponsor ads at the start of a video is set to 15 seconds. If you have a problem with the guidelines for sponsor ads, please contact us at wootv@worldofo.com to discuss possible solutions.
  • woO-TV will not change or edit your content unless otherwise is agreed on. A woO-TV splashscreen at the start of the video may be added in cases where the content is re-encoded. Please note in the submission form if you do not want a woO-TV splashscreen at the start of the video.
  • If you plan to make video coverage from competitions where time-to-broadcast is critical, please send an email to wootv@worldofo.com up front to make sure that your content will be available at woO-TV as soon as possible after uploading.
  • Certain approved publishers will get the possibility to get their content directly onto either woO-TV Prime or woO-TV 2 without going through the editor cycle. Please contact us at wootv@worldofo.com if you want to become an approved publisher, and we can discuss the possibilities.
These content guidelines may change in the future.

Uploading "raw video material"

  • It is possible to upload raw video material, which the editors at woO-TV will use to edit a final product/race report. You can also provide sponsor ads along with the raw material, which will be used in the finished product. Inclusion of sponsor material will be discussed on a case-to-case basis for raw material upload.
  • Note that we can not guarantee that uploaded raw video material will be used. This depends on how high quality the content is. It is always a good idea to check in advance with wootv@worldofo.com if you are unsure about this. Generally video coverage from WRE events or content about runners at the top 100 on the WRE ranking will have a good chance to make it to woO-TV.
  • Please include links to other material of interest if possible. This could be competition map, results, splittimes, routechoice analysis, etc. This type of extra content will make it possible to make a more interesting report.
  • Very high video quality is needed for "raw video material", to be able to further edit it. Please keep this in mind when preparing the material.
